About The Royal Forest of Dean Angling Club

The Royal Forest of Dean Angling Club (RFODAC) has been in existence for over 60 years, and aims to provide the angler, new and old, novice and expert, with opportunities for quality angling within the Forest of Dean.

Our waters are all lakes and pools within the Forest of Dean, they range in size from Steam Mills, some five acres, to Plump Hill, a small water ideal for a few hours “silver fishing”.

Anglers of all skill levels and capabilities are welcome to join RFODAC; we just ask that you read the rules, obey them, and enjoy your fishing.  You’ll find that the members are a friendly bunch and won’t mind offering advice most of the time.  Just don’t ask them in the last half-hour of a fiercely contested points match!

RFODAC aims to cater for the match angler, carp or specimen hunter, “bivvy boy”, pleasure angler and mums/dads with their children.  Our range of waters do offer something for everyone.

To join the Club, or buy a day ticket, please see our Membership page.  Please note that day tickets are never sold on the bank.  Please also remember that, before fishing, you must be in possession of an Environment Agency Rod and Line Licence.  For info, click here.

This website will change frequently; we’ll add information, tips and suggestions.  We’ll publish notifications of any new rules, matches, and restrictions to our waters etc, so please do keep checking back.  The website is the primary source of information for members, and those considering membership.

That being said we do have an active Facebook page too, and some waters have notice boards which we try to keep up to date.  If you have any questions – please Contact Us via the website; we’ll try to get back to you swiftly (day jobs permitting!)

Finally – a request for your help. If you become a member or if you enjoy our waters, please keep an eye out for our Work Party notifications.  We can never have too much help; the more hands we have, the better chance we have to maintain all of our waters to the standard we’d like.

Tight lines – hope to see you on the bank before too long.

RFODAC is proud to be a member of the Angling Trust and Fish Legal.
