The App is very straightforward, it can be accessed via a computer or smartphone. If you have any issues please get in touch with the club using the following email address: RFODACMembership@gmail.com
Please ensure you upload a passport-style photograph; bailiffs will need to recognise you from the image on your card. Please do not upload images of your dog, your car, your best catch, or your tattoos. If we cannot recognise the photo used, your membership will be declined, and it may take some weeks to refund your fees.
Also ensure that you provide either a VALID email address or a VALID mobile phone number, preferably both.
Please note that when you sign up for membership or buy a day ticket using Clubmate you will have to accept the Club’s rules.
So – why Clubmate?

Most members will not realise how many hours committee members devote to membership processing every year. The task is extremely time-consuming. Deciphering often intelligible handwriting, collating information, printing and laminating cards, writing envelopes, postage etc.… it all takes time. Time we’d rather spend with our families (or even fishing!)
And then there’s banking. We must collect and count the cash, find a bank, pay in, manually check bank balances etc. It is all very stone-aged, and it’s time we moved on. (Besides which, where are the banks open now? None in Cinderford for sure).
We get “lost cards”, which come with their own problems; cards get copied, shared, and loaned. Our paper-based membership cards have enabled many people to take the mickey. We’re cutting down on that, for the good of our honest members.
Clubmate provides all members with a photo ID card; please carry your card. If you buy a day ticket, you will need to take a photo of yourself via the app. Both of these steps mean memberships and day tickets cannot be shared. Club officers will have a bailiffs’ App, where they can check names, addresses, membership status and crucially images of the member/day ticket holder. No more sharing!
Clubmate do all the banking and provide the club with a very powerful reporting tool. No more sweating over spreadsheets.
Clubmate gives the club a tool whereby we can quickly contact all members using email or SMS, informing them of rule changes, the temporary closure of our waters, hints and tips etc… We can also use the “contact all” feature to beg for attendance at work parties! Clubmate and RFODAC will NOT be selling your information to any third parties, ever.
Cost-wise, we pay fractionally more per full member than we used to pay in commissions to the tackle shops. We actually pay less per day ticket. No more stamps, postage, laminating, driving to and from the banks; we really are making savings. Overall, the committee get an awful lot of time back for a very few extra pounds per year, and remember we’re all volunteers.
In summary, RFODAC have moved with the times. Like many organisations, we will be “online only”. It’s a change admittedly, but one we need to make.
Thank you for your continued support.
